Joint condition-based maintenance and condition-based production optimization

Developments in sensor equipment and the Internet of Things increasingly allow production facilities to be monitored controlled remotely real-time. Organizations can exploit these opportunities reduce costs improve reliability by employing condition-based maintenance (CBM) policies. Another recently proposed option is adopt (CBP) policies that control deterioration dynamically adapting rate. This study compares their performance introduces a fully dynamic (CBMP) policy integrates both Numerical results show cost-effectiveness strongly depends on system characteristics such as planning time for maintenance, cost corrective rate volatility process. Integrating decisions into substantially reduces failure risk, while fewer actions are performed. Interestingly, some situations, combination condition-dependent even yields higher savings than sum separate savings. Moreover, particularly able cope with incorrect specifications Overall, there much gained making condition dependent, also, sometimes more so, if already condition-based.
